  1. Thank you for obtaining this evaluation version of SkyMap. The files are
  2. compressed, and the program MUST be installed by running the installation
  3. program. You will probably have received this program as either one or two
  4. ZIP files, either from a friend, a BBS or a disk vendor. To install SkyMap,
  5. you must run the installation program, as follows:
  6.  
  7. 1.  Unzip all the files into a TEMPORARY directory on your hard disk.
  8.     I will assume here that the directory is "C:\TMP", but any name
  9.     may be used.
  10.  
  11. 2.  Run Windows.
  12.  
  13. 3.  From "Program Manager", click on the "File" menu and select "Run...".
  14.  
  15. 4.  Type "C:\TMP\INSTALL" into the "Command line" box, and press OK.
  16.     If you used a different directory name, substitute that for C:\TMP.
  17.  
  18. 5.  Follow the installation instructions displayed on the screen.
  19.  
  20. 6.  When installation is complete you may delete the files from the
  21.     temporary directory.

  23.                    **** IMPORTANT INFORMATION ****
  24.  
  25. This installation program attempts to copy several files into the
  26. \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory of your computer. If your computer is on a
  27. network, and you do not have write access to this directory, the
  28. installation will fail with an error message for the file "spin.vb_".
  29.  
  30. If this happens, from the DOS prompt, enter the command:
  31.  
  32.     COPY INSTALL.NET INSTALL.INF
  33.  
  34. then re-run the installation program. The files will now all be copied into
  35. the program directory, and no problems should be encountered.
